LAKE CUMBERLAND POLAR BEAR PLUNGE - Some of the craziest people in the Lake Cumberland area and beyond will take part in "The Coolest Event on Lake Cumberland!" in late February. Raises funds for Kentucky Special Olympics.
SOMERNITES CRUISE - Beautiful and historic downtown Somerset, Kentucky is home to Somernites Cruise which is held on the Fourth Saturday of each month April-October, rain or shine.
NATIONAL FISHING & BOATING WEEK - National Fishing and Boating Week (NFBW) is an annual, national celebration of fishing and boating coordinated by RBFF. Coinciding with Kentucky’s free fishing days, NFBW is June 6-14, 2009.
KIDS CATCH A RAINBOW - Annual free fishing derby for kids at Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery below Wolf Creek Dam in Russell County. Prizes for all, everything including food is free. 2009 date is Saturday, June 6. See site for details.
MASTER MUSICIANS FESTIVAL - Big-time eclectic music event, held at Somerset Community College main campus. 2009 dates are July 17-18.
U.S. 127 YARD SALE - Spanning 450 miles and four states, the best-known biggest yard sale crosses Wolf Creek Dam and goes through Russell and Clinton counties on the west end of the lake. 2009 dates are August 6-9.
LAKE CUMBERLAND POKER RUN - Annual event that draws hundreds of powerboats to Lake Cumberland, and thousands of spectators. Date for 2009: Sept. 12.
