OTHER VERY HANDY THINGS TO BE AWARE OF
    • Remember, the marine environment is tough on your equipment. Navigation lights can be very sensitive to this and are hard to keep working properly. Problems with them can crop up from one weekend to the next. If you know you will be driving your boat after dark, test your navigation lights to ensure they are working during the day. Don't wait until dark to check them. This allows time to go to the marina for new bulbs, fuses etc before dark.

    • Many times a problem with lights is nothing more than corrosion in the socket/bulb contacts. Many times this can be fixed by turning the lights off and taking a pocket knife blade and scraping the contacts on the bulb and in the socket. Make sure the lights are OFF before attempting this repair as fuses can be blown if they are turned on. The lead contacts on the base of some bulbs is really bad for corroding and many times just scraping them until shinny is all that is needed.

    • Please don't share your holding tank with your lake friends, empty it at the marina.

    • Leave the water balloon launchers at home. They're just not "lake-safe" or environmentally friendly.

    • Swim platforms and sun tan lotion do not mix. Most of the swim platforms have a rough surface; however, when any oil is on it, the oil negates the roughness.
