HOUSEBOATING
COURTESY AND HELPING EACH OTHER
- Planning for your big trip on a houseboat takes a lot of time. Forum member campertime has created a comprehensive check list, which you can open or download here. Click to view or right-click to save on your computer:

- Out of courtesy, help your slip neighbors in and out of their slips, even if they don't need it, sometimes makes for good conversation and opens the initiation in case you are ever in need.
- Houseboats weigh several tons. The moving mass/weight of even a very slow moving houseboat cannot be stopped by someone sitting on the front deck sticking their legs out to catch it as it nears the shore or dock. Nor can they be stopped by jumping from the front deck onto the bank just before impact – and then trying to catch it. These acts, especially the latter one, can result in serious injuries
