The Lakes Community - Powered By XMB Man Caught Stealing From Sav-A-Lot
    LCNN - 1-11-2010 at 09:02 PM

A Russell Springs man is facing several felony charges after he allegedly stole thousands of dollars in cash from the Save-A-Lot food store in Russell Springs this afternoon and then attempted to outrun police a few minutes later. Just before 12:00 noon, the Russell County 911 Dispatch received a call from a customer reporting that a man, who had been standing in line at a checkout lane, had entered the office area and exited after taking a white envelope from the store’s safe. The caller gave a description of the suspect and of the vehicle the suspect left in. A few moments later, RSPD Asst. Chief Jamie Rogers observed the suspect’s vehicle on Ky. 80, which then turned onto Lakeway Drive. Rogers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, it continued traveling on Lakeway Drive until turning onto Wilson Street, then into a residential driveway at which time the suspect fled on foot. Asst. Chief Rogers gave chase and apprehended the suspect behind the house, near a basement door. Arrested was James “Jimmy” Bryant, 45, of Russell Springs. Bryant is facing charges of Burglary 1st Degree, Theft By Unlawful Taking Over $500 and Fleeing & Evading Police. $3,400 was found on Bryant and was returned to the business after police concluded their investigation and paperwork. Bryant was lodged in the Russell County Jail.CLICK HERE FOR THIS AND MORE
