Don't know about main lake, but there's the usual debris at Ali 1 and visiable debris between Ali 1 & 2. It was very windy Sunday, saw debris
moving across the creek at a pretty good clip. All is well at Ali 1. It was a beautiful sunny, warm day Sat. Sunday was pleasant, just a little
breezy.

Ready,
Are you referring to the amount of debris that would let you almost walk across the lake, especially during the spring?? Or is it sporadic debris?
Hoping with the lower water levels that the debris level will be a lot lighter this year...Please tell me that's the case, and if it isn't, its okay
to lie to me a little...

Grider Hill area was clear save for the odd tree floating.

Interesting..
I do believe this is the earliest (in the year) that the annual "debris report" has begun.
What is truly interesting is that this year the COE has told us that they will not allow the water to reach the "normal" springtime levels --thereby
avoiding most of our seasonal debris problems.
For the new members, the seasonal "debris" (floating logs, etc) is generally a problem associated with the areas around CBM and upstream and, to a
lesser degree some of the larger creeks. It generally isn't too noticeable around JRM and State Dock and other areas in the "west" end of the
lake.

Skimmer
I apologize but I cannot help myself. This would be a good time for the boat skimmer to get to work and clean some of the floating debris off the
lake before the boat traffic increases and people start to loose props and outdrives.

Oh, we have a skimmer boat on the lake? How novel is that? Does it work? (he asked with tong in cheek.)

Many of us believe that the "Skimmer Boat" is merely a lake cumberland myth. Kind of like "Catfish Hunter" in the movie Grumpy Old Men.

I'm back (fighting back tears)
I have seen the skimmer boat. I belive it is called Watts Barr where it is docked near Burnside on the North shore before you get to Burnside Boat
Dock. It was sitting idle this summer and gave us the impression it had marginal ability to accompolish the job it was made to do. I also seem to
recall reading on past threads the money was never appropriated to operate the machine, therefore it sits docked unable to perform the purpose it is
intended for. Look up the past threads and there are also some pictures.

I always thought the area where this debris eating boat is parked was called Waitsboro.

Yes, the launch on Lake Cumberland near Burnside is the Waitboro Recreation Area, operated by the Corps of Engineers. Watts Bar is a lake in
Tennessee.

I saw this boat docked at Conley Bottom Friday afternoon 4-14-06.
I did not see a crew and I did not see any debris on the boat.
The lake was very debris free that day, but I think the credit go's to the wind and not the boat.

We were down late Thursday afternoon...the boat was working. Spoke with the crew for a few minutes...nice guys. Unfortunately, the crew consists of
three guys. I would think you would need more than that to really make the boat run at optimum levels.

West end Report
West end (SD / JT) - Mainly clear of debris and clean clear water. You can see down about 10-15' clearly. No noticable debris but an occasional
log or tree branch. We have been out 3 out of the past 4 weekends.. and maybe have seen 3-5 items to be considered for caution. Mostly found in the
side waters / creeks / coves.
Ready for the water!

Not to take anything away from this thread, but there’s another thread for lake condition reports that stays topped in the “Visiting Lake Cumberland”

Have been fishin out of the Lily creek boat ramp last three nights and there are still plenty of logs, limbs, etc. floating around from wolf creek all
in between if you are out keep your eyes peeled, that "season ender" could be just under the surface.

Cruised up to the dam today and it's just like me. said...got a little clearer on the main lake but you still had to be really careful.
The ducks and seagulls (or whatever they are called) were resting on some of the logs and made them easier to see.
It's quite messy so be careful!

Just in from fishing again tonight, and TERRIBLE would be quite an understatement. There are whole trees floating in the main part of the lake out of
Pleasant Hill, and up towards State Dock just be really careful out there.
