It's not that everyone thinks about it all the time, it's just something so basic, you would think it wouldn't be an issue. Because in most of the country, this would be considered kind of insane. People are just kind of fed up with people telling them what they can't do.

A couple of people hit it right on the head in this thread when they said, "As an adult, I can decide for myself if I want to drink alcohol.." Simple as that. Couldn't be any more basic.

Not to bring religion into it, but... Amen brother!!!!

From Commonwealth Journal's facebook page:

"Final results:
2,167 in favor of going wet.
1,464 in favor of staying dry.
Somerset is now a wet city."

Thank you EviUrges that appears legit!
How ironic EvilUrges...is the first to post results on wet/dry vote! :D

Congrats to Somerset for letting the people decide. They are no longer the largest dry city in KY!

Shocked. Pleasantly so, but still stunning. Congrats Somerset voters. You just helped yourselves more than you know right now.

Hmmm if you were the owner of LFM and/or Anchor Inn would you want to stay in Burnside or move to Somerset? I think you will get more for your tax dollars now if your in Somerset with a bigger police force, fire department, sewer and water system. Presently I doubt if they receive any benefit from being in Burnside other than a liquor license.

Possibly! Definitely going to be a lot interesting changes in the next few years.
Imagine the lake level back up with a fixed dam and a wet Somerset. Yep, going to be a lot of interesting changes!;)

NONE WHATS SO EVER Nordic35flame! You heard it from LCDC and that goes double from me.
All opinions are welcomed here. Please keep in mind this is a very diverse group with many opinions but a majority will usually make their voice heard as did the citizens of Somerset today. Everyone doesn't have to have the same opinion.
