Come on down Friday night. I will be anchored. Don't worry about the anchor cutting demons, we'll kill them with kindness. Who sang - "I just smlied

+1 Ditto.
If you don't arrive together, it will be impossible to tie together. Once the lines start staging, they build up fast.
The prime spot is for the early bird..
BTW. take all the fenders you can muster. Some of those little tamp@@ns I see at Harmon won't cut it. I saw some pretty good fiberglass damage from shallower boats trying to tie in between cruisers the last two years.
I might even find a pic or two if I can get them posted.

To detail the pics. above.
1st. boats drifting back
2nd. Tow chicks in a rental pontoon. No anchor, no lines,
3rd. Little fella between two crunchers.. Notice the hands on deck trying to adjust.
4th. Just a guy you need to watch out for. He might empty your adult beverage container Sometimes he arrives incognito with a black Afro wig.
5th. Just a no good trouble maker missing the lake..

Ah....that is what I saw. We took a long ride up from Wolf Creek to LFM on Monday (water was like GLASS btw) and I saw them with a little bobcat,
putting the wood debris in piles and burning it. That is good news. Bad news is that they won't be doing that over the entire lake for the next year
and a half. That would be tremendous.
In a related note, we stopped on the way back in some non-descript cove between Earl Wallace and Shinbone, and as we were sitting there (actually wife
and kids were on the bank) a large tree fell in the woods. HUGE sound. And yes, ... we heard it. (....and count .... one, two, three....and ....
twenty, twenty-one, .... Cousin Ronnie just got it.... maybe.)

THIS IS THE GROUP THAT HOST THIS GREAT EVENT EVERY YEAR AND PROVIDES THE FREE ENTERTAINMENT!
This is a great way to show your support and help them continue to put on this great lake event every year.
COME ON! Its not that much and I see people wearing this shirts every weekend year round.
The T-shirts are currently available at all the marinas and like DJ said there will be a barge selling them at the event this weekend too, BUT please
buy one of these Tees now so we can have this event in the future.
GO to your favorite marina and get one NOW!
PS: I hate to say I told you so again but I told folks the first year these would sell out fast and they did. Lot of people were disappointed they
couldn't get one. Don't say I didn't warn ya!

WELL I'm bringing this to the top again because I was told its very important to get the message out!
I'll say it again...the T-shirt sales are how all of this is paid for. This is the only fund raiser the Lake Cumberland Association has and its how
they pay all the bills to make this event FREE to everyone.
Stop by any of the marinas and they will have them or volunteers will be selling them during the raft up.
But please... just buy ONE if you can and let's help this great event keep going. Thanks! |
Dang! They're going fast and somebody doesn't even own one himself yet.
I'm leaving tonight and in the morning a whole bunch of boats are heading out.
Thurs, Fri, and Sat night under the meteor showers.

Some last minute Raft-Up Reminders....
The performance time for the Parrots of the Caribbean Band is 1:00pm - 5:00pm ET!
Also, this is a FAMILY FRIENDLY event and the water patrol will have zero tolerance for any nudity!
Look for a pontoon boat with banners roaming around the perimeter of the raft up selling tees on Saturday. Those that
are far away from the party barge will still have the opportunity to get a tee or two or three! Raft-Up Shirt sellers only accept CASH at the raft up
site for tees. No credit card purchases can be done out on the water. Of course at the marinas, credit cards are accepted.
Water Wings is already out at the raft up site and there are about 5-6 houseboats on the shore ready and rarin to
go!
Below is an image of the back of the 2012 Raft-Up t-shirt. All proceeds go towards the cost of this great annual event.

WaterWings reporting from raft up site. I'm in a group of 7 houseboats tied to shore. I can see 2 more boats on the left and 2 more on the right. 11
total and 1,639 to go.
The no wake bouys are out but I don't "think" it's in effect until tomorrow.
Weather this morning is cloudy and very humid but temp is comfortable and forecast is calling for PERFECT!
Don't forget to buy a Tee!

My guess is that a majority of those attending the raftup are not home yet, not in front of their keyboard --or not recovered yet.
...And where where did this guy come from? Seems to be a happy critter.
