I guess UK's beat down of IU over the past 10 yrs. has caused them to look for any out they can find.:P

Rumor has it, UNC is wanting out, will Rick & the Cards follow?

Maybe Kentucky is afraid of Indiana. I really cant believe that either of these two teams wouldnt make this game happen. If nothing else for the financial part of it. It just doesnt make sense to me.

Actually, UK wanted to play it at a neutral site and IU wanted a home/home series. It's a real shame, the fans suffer because of money and greed on both sides.

I personally liked it much better when they played at their own arenas vs when they played at the Hoosier Dome all of those years. I went to games at Assembly Hall and the old Dome.

Looks like UNC is out too....it's a shame, UNC (yuck) is the game I looked forward to and checked and circled on my schedule every year, even more so than UL. IU and Crean, couldn't care less who wanted to play what and where. Fun game to watch this past Dec., but not a biggie on a year to year basis, imo.....

How wrong can you be? Kentucky is 4-11 at Bloomington and cares more about the almighty dollar than playing COLLEGE basketball where it should be played which is on a campus. Kentucky is whining about wanting 50% of the tickets for their fans. Yeah right, Kentucky will let Indiana have 50% of the tickets in Rupp??? Calamari is afraid of a top five Indiana team at home and this is how he is weaseling out of it.

Indiana can't fill up 50% of the seats in Rupp. lol

I wish all the Universities would get their $h1t straight and get those games back in place.

OR, is Indiana afraid of Kentucky without a home court advantage? I can read this either way. But regardless, it is a shame not to work it out for fans on both sides.

It was your team that said NO, we like the tournament atmosphere that a neutral site brings, but I can see why your team would be afraid of that, you haven't made the tournament much lately. :D

IMO greed is destroying all of college sports....so many good rivalries are being lost to the almighty dollar.

Sad..

Clean off your 3 goggles and reread every article published on this. Kentucky wanted to play at a "neutral" site that could make more money and Indiana wanted to play at home arenas where COLLEGE basketball should be played. Indiana said NO to playing "neutral" sites for the money and Kentucky would'nt compromise on anything because this way they thought they could save face and not get a beat down in Corrupt Arena. C'mon little kitties be big boys!

Bottom line is college rivalries should be played on COLLEGE campuses. This is a slap in the face of both UK and IU fans. The almighty dollar should have nothing to do with college athletics, but sadly it does.

Barnhart told the Louisville Courier-Journal that Kentucky coach John Calipari "wasn't thrilled about going back to Bloomington."
This is from YOUR athletic director.....Who is scared?

And why did he say that? Was it because of the hostile crowd that made him concerned for his safety like when the crowd rushed the court? Read the whole story.

In the story they do not say why Calamari "wasn't thrilled to go back to Bloomington". The story only makes that statement and then the next sentence says that Barnhart says it is about the UK fans getting a 50% ticket split. They need to coordinate their excuses. It would be an inference that Calamari is afraid for his safety and never stated in the story.

Exactly, it was just out of control there that day, totally uncalled for, had the IU program really sunk that low that a win at the buzzer on their home floor was that big?

Were you there or just watching on TV and...... yes IU had sunk so low that a win over YUK at the buzzer was a big deal. Wont be next year though.
