Green River Fishing - From Dam To Greenburg Ramp

I know there are several LC.com members who fish the Green River.

Has anyone fished the river this year? (Dam down to Greenburg)

I will be fishing this river in May.
14 miles -Tailwater Ramp at Rt 55 to Roachville Ramp - Ky 3098
10 miles - Roachville to American Legion Park Ramp- Off Ky 417 near Greenburg.
Hope to put in at Greenburg , go up near the dam and then float back down. (Smallmouth, walleye focus)

What are the best areas on the river?
Between dam & Roachville ? or from Roachville to Greenburg?

If the dam generators are shut down....will I have any difficulty in going up the river in Lund 16 ft / 25 HP ? (I also have an old Starcraft 14 / 8 HP I can use if the Lund won't work.)

If you fished the river last year...please give me details on success and river navigation issues.

Thanks

If no water discharge, take a boat that you can pull over shallow shoals. Some good fishing all down through that area.

Bluebird-Crossed Green on Hwy 55 at dam yesterday.About 100 yards below bridge ,water might(?????) have been 6-8 inches deep on a shoal.Better take a boat that you can carry or drag unless they turn some water loose.

Fish there some and yes there are some shallows you will prob. have to get out and drag aross. We took a 14' flat bottom with little trouble...except the shallows...carp the size of Buicks.

Thanks Denmarkshepherds - I hope to say hello to you in person sometime in May.
(I would love to see your dogs and compare notes on river/lake fishing.)
