It's boating season once again for a majority of us. It's time to pull that boat out of storage and clean her up. Every year we look forward to coming
to Lake Cumberland, its beautiful down there. We visit the Lake Cumberland site quite often, only to find the website is showing the same information.
I think the lake level has been stuck at 711 for quite some time now. And the only events posted begin in July. I have to visit the Cumberland site on
iboats.com to get up to date info on the lake or the army corps site for current lake levels. Now dont get me wrong, I am well aware of why the site
initially came to a stand still, but he would have loved for this site to continue on. I wish I was retired at this point and could volunteer my time
to this site. Lake levels/temp, amount of Lake debris and Current events are really what brings people to the LC. And this information is not hard to
come by or takes that much time to post. Sorry, but I look forward to coming to LC every year and one of the things I start out the boating season
with, is the LC site. *Venting

The US Army Corps Of Engineer has a Facebook page for Lake Cumberland. If you use Facebook, the lake, river info you are looking for will be posted
to your Facebook page on a daily basis.

Not everyone is on the Facebook- App
This was not the point of the first post.... I agree, it is about time to get this site running again.... So sad and Cumberline would not have
wanted it this way. I personnaly will never be on Facebook, tons of time people spend on there just maintaining friends and have seen more problems
than benefits and think the Facebook craize will pass IMO. This is just too social and don't want the friends it attracts with way too much
information. Also not loading apps for this and not getting a phone to do so.
That being said I do and have liked this web site and wish that the broken parts of it get fixed for what ever reason. Sorry, this who thing has gone
on too long IMO.

It seems since you are not using a smart phone to access, I would just copy the COE link to your favorites. You would get the info instantly and
would not have to navigate any of the Forums.

who says there's nothing new on LC.com? I just learned about the fb page and the quick links posted are great. My computer has an off button and I
can go to different websites if I don't like what I'm looking at!

WanabeBoater and FFAN-LC...
As "Moderator Emeritus" of this Forum, please allow me to address your comments...
I believe that all (or at least many) of us agree that the Site is in need of some upgrades and daily attention.
In fact, if you can hang on just a little longer, you may soon be surprised (wink, wink)
Regarding the way that the site was managed when Cumberline was alive, let me remind you that LC.com was not just Cumberline's full-time job, it was
his life - literally. He created it and he personally attended to it nearly 24/7. Unfortunately, since then, this site has been administered by
volunteers who have jobs or other commitments in the "real world". So far, not one of us has had all of Cumberline's vast knowledge, his technical
skills or his insight.
Until someone like Cumberline comes forward to run this site 24/7 for basically zero pay, I'm afraid that LC.com will remain only as good (including
temps, depths and social events) as the volunteers can make it.
I feel pretty sure that if you all (or anyone else) are interested in volunteering to provide temps, lake levels, COE info or social information (or
maybe just keeping that Front Page Photo updated daily), LCNN would love for you to send him a U2U to that effect.

While the main site might not be updated 24/7, if you check the forum, many times it will have the info you are looking for (like debris report and
current events)

USACE used to run a phone number where you could call for daily updates on lake level, generation schedule, and fishing report. I forget what the
number is but if you call the USACE office in Somerset I'm sure you could get the number. The office number is 606-679-6337

Keep hearing just wait a little longer and this site will be "up and running fine". I am beginning to think that the dam will be finished first.
Either way, I look forward to both..... As for facebook. NO NO NO
