Yeah, I cheated. I called a couple places that had them for sale and asked how long they were.
All were right at 34' with trailer tounge etc.
I finally measured mine the other day and it was just under 35' with the tounge and swim platorm. JRM is supposed to be getting me a 40'er by year
end.

A few feet behind the boat is good. I found out the hard way with the platform against the back of the shed, you can't get the ladder down to get up
in the boat. Now I have to cart a 6 foot step ladder down with me.
You will appreciate the 40 footer. It would only be a matter of time before you ran the out drive into the back of the 35 footer.

I think this thread is Elmer's glued to yet another new page. It's only logical and proper. Gotta help E find a new boat. Now we gotta get a place to
put it. Next he's gotta find the back of the shed without ramming through it.
I suspect soon we will have to extend the thread to another 83 pages to help find the proper accessories to add to the boat for NEXT season!

Heck why wait till next boating season. Christmas season is here and my birthday a few months after. Feel free to send me any and all boating
accessories you feel I might need this coming season.
..I never got to test the heat on the boat. Don't know if that is a good sign or a bad sign. I'm thinking if you ask Islander it means I pulled my
boat home too soon. lol

yeah, well, there he was last Fri, here in Indy, about 32 degrees outside, and Islander was wearing shorts as we walked a few blocks outside to the
Pacers/Spurs game.
He doesn't think in terms of WHEN you pull your boat out, he thinks in terms of do you EVER pull you boat out. For him the answer is 'no.'
BTW: cig burn repaired last week. Better than new. (not an accusation, rather an update). Salyers did me right again.

Hey E with the wierd and broad temperature swings maybe you ought to remeasure that new boat just to make sure it hasn't shrunk or something. Then
your storage unit at J-Town could cost you less per foot.
Besides I think Pac 22 and Jabez Boy were missing reading this thread and are probably 'thread' bare or in serious topic withdrawls about now, and
might need to seek immediate medical attention.
Its been a week already.
How soon you gonna start looking for your next boat?

lol, I plan to keep this one for quite a while. And my storage at Jamestown
won't get any cheaper as I'm already in a oversized one for what I need so I have "comfort room" lol

I'd have to back through my taxes to double check. I'm no IRS guy, but with a 2nd home, I think you can also include your property taxes as an
expense....along with the mortgage interest. |
I believe you are correct.
The easiest way if you have the equity and don't plan on moving anytime soon is just buy everything on a home equity account and you can easily deduct
the interest. |
Sooo, if you got a normal boat loan how to do PROVE to the IRS on the interest? Do you just need to attach/keep a copy of the loan document and a
caculation or do you need to request a yearly statement?
Wish I knew some boatflyin person that could educate me on it. lol

Soo, no thanks to AquaBird. Just had the loan company send me a e-mail with
the taxes paid on the boat last year and printed it then took that with me to the Accounting place my wife and I use and they just put it in and then
stapled it as part of the hardcopy file.
easier than I thought.

course. lol You going to grace us with your presence Saturday?

No can do. 10 yr old's Little League game, 7 yr old's soccer game, plus guests from out of town visiting.
Baseball season ends June 15 and soccer before that. By then, the water might be above 70 degrees.
I'm jonesin' for a visit, but have to be patient. Plus, I hear Cousin Ronnie is going to be there, and frankly, I don't like to be around him - he
drinks and uses bad words.
