Farewell to CBR

After 10 fantastic years at Conley we are turning a page and going to try cabin life. We purchased an old log cabin on Lake Herrington. No Heat or Air, single pane windows, old roof and suspect wiring guarded by fuses. But it is 30 minutes from our home and 40 minutes for the kids and grandkids to visit. Charlie, Fred, Sheila and the entire CBR crew have been great and we will miss seeing them and all our friends on Pier III every weekend.

That surprises me...

Don't know if you remember me but we've met one time on the dock there at CBR. I thought you had it made! Good luck!;)

Jerry, sorry to hear you are leaving CBR. You had a good setup there. Hope the move works out for you. Did you sell your HB? Assume you are taking your pontoon/fishing boat with you. I enjoyed our time with you when we were at CBR. Appreciate the pics you took of my HB there on that occasion. Good luck, Best Regards.

Everyone has a different take on every situation - so here's mine.

From one cabin owner to the other - glad to see you've taken the upgrade - you're gonna love cabin life.

We started out in a trailer close to Chimney Rock back in the 60's. Then built a cabin close to Paradise Marina in the late 60's.

Loved the cabin but hated the work what went along with it. Well, Dad did most of the work but I remember the Saturday morning grass cutting before I could go out on the boat. ;). I bet that's why I hate cutting grass to this day.

If your like me you will enjoy a change of scenery, we go to Herrington at least a couple of times every year. They have done a remarkable job of cleaning the lake up over the last 10 years.

Good luck with the new digs!

Nearly; We have a local guy cut the grass. $45/cut (almost an acre) And we are told that after the spring rains, only need mowed about once a month. $8600 in slip fees cuts a lot of grass.
