Need Advice for Mechanic

Hi, I have enjoyed Lake Cumberland for over 30 years. Currently my pontoon is stored and serviced at a business on Hgwy 90 west of Somerset and on the way to Conley bottom. However, it has been taken over by a new mechanic that I just can't get through to. It has been 10 weeks since I placed my order to have the boat pulled and winterized. Nothing done at this point. I am looking for new storage and a mechanic for the Conley Bottom area. My family has kept at least one boat at our current location for well over 20 years. We have two boats there now and have for the last two years. I need someone that will communicate and understand the service needs that I have. Thank you.

Welcome Seeman;

If you can trailer it yourself and pull it, I would recommend John Stivers at Unlimited Marine in Russell Springs (Hwy 127) or Chris Kissee in Jamestown (Boat Dock Road aka So. Main Street)

Both are good guys and do honest work IMO. I'm not affiliated with either but have used both.

I highly recommend All Boat Service in Bronston. Great people and great service. Not affiliated at all but a long time customer. See Dennis or Tommy.

Seeman,

I know the storage and mechanic you speak of. I am not affiliated to them at all. I am just a customer for the last several years, and my family for years before them. I must say that I have had no issues since the new one took over. I also have been able to get a hold of him, one time being late at night on a saturday, of which he came in on a sunday to fix my problem.

Also the storage side is still owned by the old person.

Just my two cents on the experiance I have had.

Over the years I have used Bob's, All Boats, and Hilltop. All offered great service to me in that area. I don't know if one of these are whom you are referring.

Like madcon said, if you can pull it yourself, Unlimited has been my service of choice since I moved to State Dock. Very reliable and honest.

For Storage Boats n Storage on 80 just west of Somerset is a great location. Skinney at MPH motorsports just past him does good work and has been fare. He will come get your boat at Dave Spillman's (Boats n Storage), winterize and return it.

I had a spot at Dave's for 10 years and just moved to Jamestown as I boat out of State Dock. I still prefer Dave's but, too far from State Dock to make it manageable.

No issues with the others recommended here; I have either used them or heard positive comments.

Hey seeman, My name is Ricky Koger and I recently opened a Marine Service on Hwy 90 (not far from the place I think your speaking of) and would be more than happy to assist you by picking your boat up, doing any service work you need and return it to the storage of your choice. You can contact me anytime on my cell 606-307-2881, shop phone 606-348-0164 or by email Rickysmarina76@yahoo.com. Hope everything works out and I wish you the best of luck!
