Its that time of year again....
Voices from the past can be heard at Zollicoffer Park, the site of the Battle of Mill Springs and youre invited to take a stroll through the woods
to listen to what they have to say.
The Mill Springs Battlefield Association is hosting its annual Ghost Walk (formerly known as the Candlelight Tour) this Saturday, Nov. 6, between 6
and 9 p.m.
The Ghost Walk is a family-friendly event which brings to life the sights and sounds one might have encountered on the battlefield in the 1862.
Visitors walk a torch-lit trail, led by a Mill Springs Battlefield Association tour guide, and encounter several scenarios in which actors portray
soldiers or other individuals who lived and died during the Civil War.
The tour is intentionally held after the Halloween season because it is designed to be factual and educational not scary.
This years event will kick off with a short speech by Civil War buff Dr. Roger Tate, who will be re-dedicating the 100-year-old monument at
Zollicoffer Park.
Shortly thereafter, Ghost Walk tours will begin, with groups departing approximately every 20 minutes.
Admission is $3 per person or a maximum of $10 per family. MSBA Passports will be honored at this event.
Refreshments and souvenirs will be available at the park. Proceeds go toward the preservation of the Mill Springs Battlefield.
Zollicoffer Park is located off West Ky. 80 on Ky. 235, on mile south of Nancy.
