What's on your 2010/11 winter Project List?

My 2010/11 winter project list (so far)

-New carpet (area rugs) inside
-install rebuilt windlass and new anchor line
-install new depth finder and black box for 2 year old Garmin 535 chartplotter
-redo some flooring in both heads
-have fender racks repaired and re-install
-find and replace 12v light bulbs burnt out since last year
-might upgrade old tv to a 36" LCD TV in salon

If anyone has a couple of thousand dollars laying around and not sure what to do with it, U2U me please.

Well,

I bought a 32' Luhrs with twin Detroit Diesels in it. I plan to strip the existing wood cabin off of it, rebuilt the deck in aluminum and build an aluminum pilothouse on it.

Should be an interesting project.

My boat is a neverending project, but whose isn’t :P

-Pull and rebuild starboard prop shaft, and replace coupler and O.E.M. 1934 Chris craft 1.25" stuffing box. Got one on eBay this summer in excellent shape for .99 cents! woo hoo figure that one out.
-Rebuild my worn out windlass
-Add an automatic hatch lifter for the front chain locker access hatch
-Change my inverter’s 2 bank battery cables from 1/0 to 4/0
-Fabricate and install a new custom fly bridge control panel
-Rewire all the fly bridge controls
-Replace fly bridge engine throttle and shifter cables
-Visit all the great distilleries in KY and make my Brother come with me to drive

Still testing props and engine height to get ideal setup, hopefully that doesn't turn in to a winter project!:o

Then:
replace the factory dash with a fully digital one to utilize the smartcraft.
add a vhf radio
change the drivers seat post for a taller one
add mounting points for hanging fenders
change trailer lights out for all led ones
add a ladder on the bow
add a grill ;)
possibly see about having a full enclosure made(probably next winters project)

I'll think about that when winter comes. There's a lot of good boating left!

I'm planning on:

- shoveling some snow from the driveway
- carrying some wood indoors for the stove
- getting my portable generator ready, just in case
- watching the weather for weekend fishing opportunities
- enjoying the coming winter no matter what the weather happens to be

Since I'm currently boatless, I would like to offer some help to those in need. The wife says I'm very "handy":P but I dont think she means @ working on boats!. Would like to start out helping E. Hillman, but then nobody else would get quality work. Guess I'll just have to finish that extra bedroom in the basement. Still lots of great weather left.

That is like saying the engines are wasted in your Baja and should be in a Formula :P

It just makes it even better. ;)

My winter boat list?

Step 1 - Winterize
Step 2 - Wait for trees to leave out and bloom
Step 3 - De-winterize

Yep, that about sums it up!

I think you mean de-summerize as step 1
and summerize as step 3

I can't beleive you are getting by with such language on a family friendly forum! :D

Bought a Camper Top that was made for a Sea Ray Sundancer and try to retro fit to my open bow. Craigslist Snag, 50 Bucks, with hardware, top, windows. Put new radio in with a USB port for music. Rebuild Carb and tune in.
