It's fathers day this weekend and I'm a father and can't go to the lake because it's fathers day. It just ain't right, I'm gonna miss Blues, Boat ,
and BBQ festival. But I'm going down tomorrow to finally get the boat back in the
water and will stay till Friday. So all is good.
We never really grow up; we only learn how to act in public.
Dad will be 94 Saturday. I would love to take him boating on Lake Cumberland but we have never came up with a way to get him on our boat. He has bad
knees and can't step up or down good.
Started coming to LCSRP in the early 60's with my father, we had a Boston Whaler with a 50 Horse Merc, still here, he did come down with me once last
year, he will be 93 in July.
I have to go to a Wedding Saturday or I would have brought him to the lake this weekend. Hope my brother and I can figure out something worth while that he will like to do on Sunday...
Here is one of Dad and I in Wyoming a few years ago...

I have many wonderful memories of camping and fishing on Dale Hollow with my Daddy. We went to Sulphur Creek and there were several summers in the
60's when Mom and Daddy would run the little motel/restaurant for Barney and Dot to take a little vacation. Daddy would take me and my cousins
swimming where the new boat ramp now sits in the State Park. There may have been a dozen boats at the marina (actually back then it was more like a
dock).
To the Dads with small children...get them out and make good memories on the lake. It's something they will cherish FOREVER!
So thankful and blessed to have my wonderful Daddy. Not to be disrepectful (and some of you may disagree...LOL) but God gave me the greatest Daddy on
earth...I am grateful for every moment we can spend together. (Yep! I'm still a Daddy's Girl!!)
My Dad's birthday and Father's Day are the same day this year. He will be 95. He still mows his grass and drives. He is currently fixing up (paint
and new boards) his patio furniture for his party Saturday. I'm sure he would "adopt" you for a day Bubbles. He has other "adopted" kids coming in from Florida and Wyoming to surprise him for his birthday.
Awesome Slippery! I never know what to get my dad. I just hope he knows how much he means to me even if the gift can not reflect it.

Just spend some quality time with him, believe me, that's all he wants.
