The mother-in-law has dropped the deer in the center of the pic above that I had posted. She has set a high standard for us to follow 9 point in
velvet.

No snakes up here. Thank goodness!
Nice seeing your avatar again Fryman.
Raining up here this morning. I'm not a rain hunter. Too many issues.
1. My Smart Sight is electronic with photo cell. (doesn't like to get wet)
2. Tracking can be a problem in heavy rain.
3. My glasses fog up and I can't see!! A big problem.
Good luck to all, and keep us posted. W/pics if possible.

90-year-old woman bags trophy buck. w/video
FOND DU LAC COUNTY - The 9-point buck would have made a fine buck tale on its own. But this story is made by the woman who bagged him, 90-year-old
Delores Wilhelms of the town of Forest.
"You go out hunting and fishing and they say, 'where's the lady in you? Why don't you go shopping?' Well, I don't like shopping," said
Wilhelms.
The trophy buck crossed the sights of her and her crossbow Monday night.
"I've never seen one so big so close," she said. "I said oh my god, and you know you're supposed to be quiet...so I picked up my bow, aimed it,
and bingo."

Got a call 8:00 Saturday night from my friend who owns the farm in Mason Co. where I hunt. He had good news and bad news for me. The bad news was
that he would only be doe hunting this Rifle season, the good news was that he shot a MONSTER Saturday. It weighed 300+, 10 point with probably a
24"+ spread. He said the main beams are about the size of the handle on a baseball bat. I've only seen a cell phone pic so far, when I get a
better pic I'll share.
Oh yeah, and he told me that he saw a "Big Brother" to the deer he shot when he first got there but couldn't get a shot. As if I'm not anxious
enough...

Saw a monster being scored at HQ a couple weeks ago. It was taken by a 14 year old girl in Spencer Co. during youth hunt weekend. Best I could tell it
was a 27 pointer give or take one. Green scored 230 before deductions, with a net of 218 after. Norm Minch, who works in HQ and is a certified BC
scorer said it was in the top 4-5 he's ever scored.

Last weekend was good for sightings on our farm. I saw 24 deer in all two very nice bucks. I passed on both becasue well I am still in that picky
mode. I may regret that later. Just a word of advice stay away from the code blue deer urine. I tried it for the first time this weekend and every
deer that smelled it ran off quickly.

After work today, I will be heading down to Southern Ohio for our week long hunt. My son was off today and is already down there. He set my stand for
me and said my spot is TORE up. 3 foot scrape 10 yards from my stand and said all my corn was gone. (50 lbs. from last weekend!) Can't wait!!
Get back to ya next week. Good luck all.

I was out and saw 9 different buck. Of course the only ones that would give a shot were the little ones. The bucks in Southern Ohio (atleast where
we were) are not rutting yet. Over towards Minford and Portsmouth I heard they were breading. I am all set up for this weekend, the weather looks a
little warm but we will see.
Good luck to everyone.

I asked this a long time ago and was kinda laughed at.
Anyone have a place I can teach my son to hunt? It is late in the year, so I am talking NEXT year. My family (aunts n uncles) sold our farm to a land
group many years ago. I have not hunted since, but I miss it and I have a son that wants to learn.
There are deer around my place, but the locals feed em and consider them pets. I do not want to have hard feelings with them.

PC, My recommendation would be to first find some private property where you will not have to worry about other hunters. Sorry if that was the
obvious answer but it's critical in my opinion. Then Safety is the #1 lesson, that's how I was started. Make sure your son knows how to safely
handle a firearm in all situations. ie Climbing in and out of stands, crossing fences, etc. Then onto looking for sign, trails, etc.
Like I said, sorry if that was all obvious info.
I'd recommend not hunting around your place if the neighbors feed them, that's a recipe for disaster.
