Started on this site in 2006 when I was new to boating. Learned a lot and made a lot of great friends. We also surfed a site call Boating today tv but it went down. In October 2008 to replace that site and to maintain the integrity of this site keeping unneeded chatter out (as some of us like to talk off subject a bit too much lol ) I created another site and linked to lakecumberland.com since I wanted to keep the two sites in peace.
I was banned from posting on this forum because of a misunderstanding and some IPs were blocked. All of my 7782 posts were deleted. (thus you would have to add that to my current number to figure how addicted I am to this site lol)
I never held anything against LakeCumberland.com for it and was after a long spell of banishment allowed back. I am happy to be back because LakeCumberland.com is one of my favorite reads each day plus it has a GREAT community of people and moderators. :-)
I got started boating in 2004 with a 1965 Mark Twain 18' ViewSonic with a 140 Evinrude. In 2005 I traded it in on a new 2004 Bayliner 210 Classic Cuddy. My wife and I made many great memories on that boat running as far as we felt comfortable on the South Fork all the way almost to the parkway up Fishing creek and to the ends of many other creeks as well between Burnside and the Dam.
Up till spring 2012 I had the Bayliner 210 but in April/May DCH Marine sold the 210 for me and I drove to Illinois to purchase a Bayliner 2655 Cruiser. With the smaller Cuddy, I used to use several docks/ramps depending on my mood for the day with Conley being the main one but also Waitsboro, LFM, PCP/FCRA, CP, AII, GHD, etc. but now that I mostly store the boat above JRM that is where I boat out of the most. I may miss the speed and fuel efficiency of the 210 but the 2655 was the right choice with the arrival of my daughter in 2010. We can now come down and stay on the water all weekend without having to pack everything up and out each night and having to pay pet fees etc. for our other furry family member.
I hope you enjoy Lake Cumberland and the Lake Cumberland Forums as much as I do. :-) |
